Procedural Folds
Generate realistic fabric folds and stretches without simulations
Overview
The Procedural Folds setup allows you to quickly create realistic fabric folds in Blender without needing cloth simulations. Using geometry nodes, the addon generates folds and stretch marks dynamically, based on compression and tension maps. It also allows you use folds generated by geometry-based noise textures, meaning you don't have to create wrinkle and tension maps.
If you're folding clothing, matresses, or towels, you're gonna get use out of a having a setup like this.
Compatibility
- Blender Versions: 3.6+ (LTS), 4.0+
- Works with Cycles and Eevee render engines.
Key Features
Fully Procedural
The setup uses geometry nodes to generate folds in real time. Adjust parameters of the noise textures (scale, distortion, etc) to achieve exactly the look you want. You can adjust parameters such as "Buildup" and "Crease" to get a perfect result.
Custom Textures and Patterns
Use your own textures to influence the shape and pattern of the folds.
Lightweight
This setup does not use physics or cloth simulation.
